Deactivating your Instagram account can seem intimidating, but it’s actually super easy to do in just a few simple steps. Step 1: Log into your Instagram
If you want to deactivate your account, you first need to log into your account.
Step 2: Go to Settings
Go to your profile page. From there, scroll down to Settings and select it.
Step 3: Click on Your Activity
If you’re on your personal profile, click on Your Activity from your Profile Homepage. This will take you to a page where you can see all of your past activities, interactions, and photos. If you’re on someone else’s profile, look for a link that says View Activity at the top of their Profile Homepage. Clicking on that link will also take you to a page where you can see their activity.
Step 4: Delete your activity by clicking on the trash can icon next to each date.
If you’re really dead set on deleting your account for good, the most thorough way to do so is to remove all activity by clicking on the trash can icon next to each date. Just make sure that you’ve saved your photos to your camera roll and backed up any tags or comments that you would like to keep before doing so!
Step 5: Confirm deletion and then click on Permanently delete my account.

Once you’re logged in, click on your profile picture from the top of any page. Choose Settings from the list of options. On the left side menu, find and click Privacy. Scroll down until you see Delete my account and then select it under the Request deletion option. Under How do I delete my account? Select No thanks.
